When Was "The Last Supper?"

When Was The "Last Supper?"

When Exactly Was The Last Supper?

Ah-when exactly was the "Last Supper?"  What if the "Last Supper" happened on a different date than the one we celebrate?  Does that really make a difference to you?  What is it that you are really celebrating the day or the event that took place?  Well, apparently there are some contradictions or interpretations of the Bible about the exact time the "Last Supper" took place. I just found and article on Yahoo!News that claims that this contradiction may be coming to an end.

Apparently,  a  scientist at the University of Cambridge, professor Colin Humphreys, believes it is due to a calendar mix-up.  He beliefs that his findings will now strengthen the case and finally introduce a fixed date for Easter.  Apparently, Christians have long celebrated Jesus Christ's Last Supper on Maundy Thursday but supposedly new research released Monday claims to show that it actually took place on the Wednesday before the crucifixion.

According to the article, "Humphreys uses a combination of biblical, historical and astronomical research to try to pinpoint the precise nature and timing of Jesus's final meal with his disciples before his death."

The apparent inconsistency in the Bible is that, "while Matthew, Mark and Luke all say the Last Supper coincided with the start of the Jewish festival of Passover, John claims it took place before Passover.  That apparently has been the dilemma.  Get the full story here on Yahoo!New.  Oh! Let me know if the actual matters to you or if its the occasion that you celebrate. (The Last Supper image from ASK.Com)
